CYGNET FOLK FESTIVAL // A third year Visual Communication project, with a brief to design an identity for an event or festival.

I chose to design a speculative identity for the Cygnet Folk Festival. The identity was comprised of a logo, program, CD design and packaging, poster and an iPhone app.

The identity was designed to visually represent the three main aspects of the festival: music, dance and art. These three aspects were not strictly separate, and would often overlap and interact with each other. I chose to represent this through intersecting circles of varying shades of blue. The three shades of blue were very closely related and not obviously different, to express the three aspects of the festival itself.
